we live everday
with fear
of death
of life
of everyone
around us
but do we fear
what we should
be afraid of
will it be there
in the night
behind
a dark
corner
lurking

the true ones
we should fear
ourselves
for what can they do
to hurt us
if they don't know a thing
about us
they can't
reveal our every secret

until we cannot
take it any
longer so we

let go of life

and finally take
our final breath

The ending of the night

It all ends tonight
as the sun finally sets
the final breath awaits
the perfect moment of fright
the heartbeats are on countdown
as they know where to go
my final wish abused
forgiveness is unknown
so as the sun teeters
on the final end of me
the end is coming near
but tonight it's just me

The sunlight streams in
once a welcome sight
but since that faithful moment
a time of suffering fright
my memories of the past
swallow me with shame
as I totter towards my problems
the clanking of my chain
it pulls me farther down
the longer I try to go
for I know that tomorrow
will bring the same fate
as I try to let go

Irony of grief and what it like to life with regret

Nothing; nothing can change where I am right now; that depression that swallows me for what I have done, but what hurts more; what hurts the most is knowing that I deserve this; this punishment won't last for what was assigned by the Man; for it is the eternal weight upon, the longing to change what has happened in the past; if only my future could go back to the past; everything would be different now. I wouldn't be here right now, I would be out changeing the world iin a positive way. If only, is no better than what if.

Snowman

Many snows I have seen this year
oh the people have come
from far and from near
for the joy of this white
that makes up me
and keeps me here
brings people together
together with family

children will play
around me all day
patting me here and there
for before this is done
I will be the best
snowman on the block

Snowflake

Each one
has a life
their experiences
grow each time
they fall from the sky
bonds grow
and fall apart
everlasting their time
on the earth
until their next
winter snow
of beauty
each fall
is a dance
put together for
seasons and months
just for this one
moment of peace
quiet
and serenity

Alone in the Woods

It's cold, dark, and damp. All I hear is the hooting of owls and the chirping of crickets. Darkness seeps through the leaves and encloses around me. I am lost, trapped, and alone. Everywhere I turn is a dead end. I begin to listen harder to the sounds of the night. Howls, hoots, adn scampering echo throught the night. I think of my family; safe and warm; sitting around a table eating dinner by the brightness of a candle.

Water

I hear it wash over the rocks. The sound is so powerful it makes you stop and listen. As I walk along it's beautiful trail, it grows larger and larger, gaining more power and wisdom; as you see the years go by. Each stone, plany, moss patch, and grain of sand has a story to tell of it's life by the river. Suddenly a roaring sound wakes me from my trance. The river halts, and the watercascades into a beautiful waterfall, while I think to myself, what a beautiful way to end.

On the mantle
